About Prayogshalaa estudio

Introduction:

Established in 2011 in Lucknow, PRAYOGSHALAA is a multidisciplinary design practice that is young, and experimental. Conceived by Amit Kumar Singh and Devyani Dayal as Founders, the studio is slowly evolving into a very close knit team, with every member bringing a special skillset to the table.


Philosophy:

We strive to drop the elitist tag from our profession, and want to become the architect for the common man. In India, still majority of all construction is mostly single or double storied i.e. low rise and high density. So if we put our efforts and focus our design interventions at this scale, we would in a position make a bigger impact on our ecology, economy and urbanity.

The idea is to be connected to earth, innovative & be sensitive. It is a construct of our enthusiasm to have a go at unorthodox ideas and techniques in trying to bring the alternative into the mainstream.


That is why our approach to architectural practice is very hands on, the studio relishes working along with the contractors, vendors, site teams and strives to learn and sometimes unlearn the grass root level approach to construction process and its various aspects i.e. cost, efficiency, methodology and biases.
